In 2016, ill.Gates released the “More Tea EP” which incorporated the sounds from field recordings and studio sessions in Taiwan, along with samples of Alan Watts, Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. For Cypher 21, the challenge to the Class of 808 was to create a non-aggressive song that creates soundscapes for the Urban Teahouse. No synths were allowed except for sub-bass and the results are an ultra-chilled out journey that is the perfect soundtrack for an afternoon of meditative tea tasting.
